Ohio has released its latest public school report cards, placing Anna Local Schools among an elite group of top-performing educational institutions statewide. Out of 607 public school districts across Ohio, only 61 achieved the highest possible overall rating of 5 stars—and Anna Local School District is proud to be among them.

Both Anna High School (9–12) and Anna Elementary School (K–5) earned overall 5-star distinctions on the building level report cards . Notably, Anna Elementary achieved a perfect performance score, earning 5 stars across every individual category evaluated by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW). Out of more than 3,200 public school buildings statewide, only 308 reached this top-tier mark.

The district’s performance places it alongside top-rated peers across the region:

-Shelby County: Five districts earned 5-star overall ratings—Anna, Fort Loramie, Hardin-Houston, Jackson Center, and Russia.

-Mercer County: Two districts achieved 5 stars—Fort Recovery and Marion Local.

-Auglaize County: Three districts earned 5 stars—Minster, New Bremen, and New Knoxville.

--Individual buildings in Shelby County earning the 5-star marks include Anna High School and Anna Elementary School, alongside Fort Loramie Elementary, Hardin-Houston Elementary, Jackson Center Elementary, and Russia High School.

"Our students, teachers, and staff work tirelessly every day to maintain a culture of academic excellence," said Heather Wuebker, Director of Student Achievement, "Earning a 5-star rating for our District and at the Elementary and High School building levels reflects the dedication of our entire school community."

Good Luck to our Anna Rockets competing at Envirothon today! Our Anna Rocket team consists of: Ben Gehret, Griffin Pettus, Sam Baldonado, Tyler Dickman, Cole Huecker, Josephine Flaute, Chris Jamiliton, Amber Leopold, Isabelle Rihm, Tristan Rickels. Advisor, Vicki Quinter.

The ENVIROTHON is a high school competition designed to stimulate, reinforce and enhance interest the environment and natural resources. Students are tested on their knowledge of soils, forestry, wildlife, aquatic ecology and current environmental issues. In addition, the Envirothon encourages cooperative decision-making and team building. While each student on a team is challenged individually to contribute his or her personal best, the score that counts at the end of the competition is the team score. A team consists of five students, all from the same high school. Retrieved from: https://ofswcd.org/envirothon.html

Anna High School's Home & Small Engine Maintenance students had a fantastic opportunity to participate in an "at-school field trip" with a team from Koenig Equipment last week. Koenig technicians lead the students through the process of routine maintenance and troubleshooting problems on the school's lawn equipment. This hands-on demonstration not only reinforced the practical life skills that are taught in Home & Engine Maintenance, but also gave students a glimpse into the mechanical and agricultural service industries right here in our community.

A huge thank you to Koenig Equipment for taking the time out of their busy schedule to invest in our students. We truly appreciate your partnership and dedication to supporting local education!
